Dyslexic Thinking

Dyslexia, often seen as a learning disability, is typically associated with challenges in reading, writing, and spelling. However, beyond adversity, some sunshine.

Dyslexic thinking involves alternative cognitive processes that offer several  significant benefits. In Lars Hartmanns work, we explore how this can be harnessed to unlock hidden potential in individuals. Due to their different neurocognitive wiring, dyslexic thinkers are accustomed to approach problems with a lateral perspective, making connections that non-dyslexic individuals might overlook. Such unique problem-solving abilities are invaluable in various fields, including technology, engineering, and creative arts.

Dyslexia has been associated with heightened emotional intelligence. Dyslexic thinkers tend to possess a high degree of empathy, intuition, and interpersonal understanding. This enhanced emotional intelligence allows them to connect with others on a deeper level and navigate social dynamics effectively. By leveraging their heightened understanding of emotions, dyslexic individuals excel in fields such as counselling, psychology, mentoring, and leadership roles.

Embracing dyslexic thinking not only promotes inclusivity but also leads to breakthroughs and advancements in science, arts, business, and beyond. A world that embraces dyslexic thinkers promotes inclusivity and opens itself to new possibilities as scientific breakthroughs solve more mysteries of our grey matter.

CRACK ON CANVAS:

Imagination knows no bounds

Our beautiful minds allow us to explore ideas beyond the boundaries of our current reality. We ponder the unknown, question existing realities, and generate novel ideas, purely by tapping into the vast reservoirs of imagination within us. This liberation offers a mental sanctuary. We can let our minds wander, drift, float or journey with determination to uncharted territories and different time periods to create narratives that defy the constraints of our current existence.

Ironically the search beyond, often leads within ourselves. Stepping into a different reality can provide valuable perspective, enabling us to question and reimagine who we are amidst different contexts and circumstances. Simultaneously, we gain insight into the fluid nature of our own reality and the potential for growth and self-discovery.

As we embark on this metaphorical journey, let us strike a delicate balance between the depths of our imagination and the responsibilities inherent in our own reality. By doing so, we can use the cracks into other realities as a means to enrich our lives and make positive contributions to the world around us.

The artwork "Crack on Canvas" consists of six individual pieces available in three sizes: 44 x 54 cm, 60 x 120 cm, and 120 x 160 cm.

RED THREAD

The enemy is Perfect. Perfect is the enemy.

Nobody wants to make mistakes, but they happen, to all of us. It’s human nature. They are character building tools that are essential to learning and the quickest way to paralysis and stagnation is the fear of making mistakes. No, we need to fail, and fail faster. It unlocks humility and self awareness. By embracing mistakes, we cultivate the ability to recognize and accept our own limitations. But hear here, accepting mistakes is very different from not caring. It’s simply recognising a fundamental part of the learning process.

This “less fucks given” mindset facilitates an environment fertile for innovation and unorthodox thinking. It challenges established beliefs and propels exploration of unconventional solutions. What’s more, through acknowledgement of our potential for fallibility, we gain a deeper compassion towards others’ mistakes.

This newfound empathy serves as a catalyst for creating healthier relationships, fostering improved communication, and nurturing a more harmonious society. As we acknowledge our errors, we learn to cultivate resilience - the strength and perseverance required to bounce back from failures, overcome challenges, and continue our journey.

In retrospect, being wrong is not an emblem of failure; rather, it is an invitation for growth and self-improvement.

THE FRAME

The purposefully heavy-duty cast iron and brass frame is part of the work. It puts an abrupt full stop to Lars Hartmann’s investigations and can be interpreted as the artist’s experience of being put in a stall, but is also a reminder of the unexplored that awaits beyond

The look of the iron and brass frame efter it’ s be handpollish and waxde with lether wax.
